My name is Ian Murray. Im 27 years old a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with 17 years of training,and high-level competition experience. As the Head Kids Coach and Head Adult instructor under Professor Robby Donofrio at Gracie Brandon, I’m passionate about teaching and helping students build confidence, discipline, and skill through Jiu-Jitsu.

My name is Jaden and I’ve been training jiujitsu for almost 6 years now. I’ve competed at all belt levels and in multiple weight classes. I’m currently a 3 stripe brown belt and I teach the gi classes on Wednesday and Friday nights. My favorite part about training jiujitsu is the progression in skill that can be seen over time, not only in yourself, but your teammates and students. Before starting jiujitsu I had no previous martial arts experience, and the amount of progress I’ve made brings a sense of accomplishment. 

Gracie Brandon has built a community that encourages collaborative learning so that everyone, regardless of experience level can progress and reach their goals.

My name is Tanner Tuck and I am Systems Based Jiu Jitsu Instructor at Gracie Brandon. My main achievements include multiple double gold performances, submission victories over PGF veterans, and officiating multiple ADCC level events. My unique experience as a referee as well as a competitor give me a one-of-kind insight into preparing you for any objective in the sport, as a hobbyist or a professional! 

I take pride in cultivating an environment that lets people of all skill levels and backgrounds grow and expand their comfort zones at their own pace. I’ve worked with the forefront coaches in the world on developing the art of Jiu Jitsu from day 1, and building a lasting bond with every student that steps on the mat. 

I teach the Thursday Night Mixed Levels Class, the 6:00 AM Breakfast Club Class, the Introduction Courses, as well as the Saturday Advanced class that takes your favorite moves to the next level!

What makes Gracie Brandon different from other BJJ academies?

Gracie Brandon offers authentic Gracie Jiu-Jitsu curriculum with a focus on self-defense applications along with sport techniques. Our academy emphasizes a supportive family atmosphere where practitioners of all levels train together. We maintain smaller class sizes to ensure personalized instruction and faster progression for our members.

No prior experience is necessary. Our structured curriculum is designed to accommodate complete beginners. We offer dedicated fundamentals classes where new students learn essential techniques and principles at a comfortable pace before transitioning to more advanced training. Many of our most dedicated members started with zero martial arts background.

Gracie Brandon provides age-appropriate programs for the entire family. We offer Gracie Tots (ages 3-4), Gracie Kids (ages 5-9), Gracie Juniors (ages 10-15), and adult classes (16+). Each program features curriculum specifically designed for that age group’s physical and mental development while maintaining the core principles of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

For optimal progress, we recommend training 2-3 times per week consistently. This frequency allows enough mat time to develop skills while giving your body sufficient recovery between sessions. Our membership options accommodate various training schedules, and many members find that even training twice weekly leads to noticeable improvement in techniques and overall fitness.

For your first class, simply wear comfortable athletic clothing like a t-shirt and shorts or leggings. We provide loaner gis (BJJ uniforms) for new students during trial classes. Bring a water bottle and any personal hygiene items you might need. Our welcoming environment ensures new students feel comfortable regardless of fitness level or experience.
